From the documentation I've seen,
one has to have a Google Cloud account in order to implement Google Auth for logging in.
Here is the latest and greatest (AFAIK) version of the instructions for social logins.
Is this correct? Do we really need to PAY for a Google Cloud account, in order to implement Google Auth for logging into an SSID? Or is the documentation stale again? Can't we just use SAML and create an app in Google Admin?
