I have DHCP issue for wireless laptop while AP's are receiving IP address fine from same new  server. Seems like laptop is taking different route. So I did < logging level debugging user-debug  MAC-ADDR> followed by <show log debug all | include MAC-ADDR> and got results.

After sending DISCOVER message, I see "sos msg" as follow. I understand this message means internal error which means no communication. Can anyone tell me what the "sos" stands for?

I found in Aruba debug messages there are AUTH, STM, and SOS. I like to know what those acronym stands for:

    .

    .

    .

    <202534> <DBUG> |dhcpdwrap| |dhcp| Datapath vlan70: DISCOVER 3c:a9:f4:b0:e5:6c Transaction ID:0x40f0b2d2 Options 3d:013ca9f4b0e56c 0c:414d4544534154584e424236514242 3c:4d53465420352e30 37:010f03062c2e2f1f2179f92b

In addition to this question, I've looked up google and found about "Son of Strike", a extention of .NET debugger. So does it possibly "sos msg" mean debugging message implemented by Son of Strike/.NET frame?.... um but I don't run .NET or any debugging application.

By the way, I've got this debug message from one of my Aruba controller3600.

SOS is an Aruba Firewall construct used to handle packets.  It is nothing more than that, really.  Those messages mean that we observed a client with a mac address of 3c:a9:f4:b0:e5:6c  that did a DHCP discovery on VLAN 70.  We should also be looking for an offer from your DHCP server if DHCP routing is configured correctly.

Thanks for response!. Currently I don't see any offer from DHCP server. It seems I have site firewall blocking UDP 67. Will work with FW personnel. Thanks again
