Appending Intermediate CA in the Ubuntu client for VIA to fix the server certificate error

Feb 19, 2019 07:13 PM

Q:

How to fix the server certificate error in the Aruba VIA Ubuntu client?

A:

When the server certificate uploaded to the Aruba Controller is signed by the Intermediate CA which is not part of the certificate store then VIA Ubuntu will throw server certificate error. While downloading the profile using the VIA Ubuntu client, we will get the below error message.

To fix this issue, we need to append Intermediate CA in the cert store location - "/usr/lib/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt"

We need to use the command - “sudo gedit /usr/lib/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt” to append the Intermediate CA certificate and save the file which will resolve this issue.
