Requirement:
Enabling Pre-Standard POE detection for AP-22x series.
Solution:There are 2 POE + detectors on the AP. One is the standard 802.3at detector & other is voltage comparator (pre-standard).
In 6.4.4.8, there was a change made to disregard the result of pre-standard detector as it can give a false positive result. So, due to this change E1 port on the AP was showing as disabled post upgrade.
In case you still need the pre-standard detection, we have introduced a knob in AP provisioning profile which can enable that detection.
This knob is available only via CLi beginning 6.4.4.10.
Configuration:
(Primary) (config) #show ap provisioning-profile default ( The output below is just a snippet).
Provisioning profile "default"
------------------------------
Parameter Value
--------- -----
Remote-AP No
Master IP/FQDN N/A
PPPOE User Name N/A
PPPOE Password N/A
USB power mode auto
AP2xx prestandard POE detection Disabled
Please use the following steps:
1. Creation the AP provisioning profile & enabling legacy POE detection.
(Aruba7010) (config) #ap provisioning-profile test
(Aruba7010) (Provisioning profile "test") #ap2xx-prestandard-poe-detection
(Aruba7010) (Provisioning profile "test") #exit
2. We can create AP -specific profile if we want to test for 1 AP.
(Aruba7010) (config) #ap-name <name of AP>
(Aruba7010) (AP name "AOS-1") #provisioning-profile test
(Aruba7010) (AP name "AOS-1") #exit
Verification(Primary) (config) #show ap provisioning-profile test ( The output below is just a snippet).
