How do I control bandwidth usage per virtual AP?

Jun 30, 2014 11:17 PM

Product and Software: This article applies to all Aruba controllers and ArubaOS 3.3.2.X and later.

An enterprise environment naturally has multiple SSIDs. We might need to control the amount of bandwidth being used on an SSID basis. For example, if we have one SSID for employees and other for guests, we might allocate 80% of the total bandwidth for the employee SSID and 20% for guest users.

This allocation can be implemented using the traffic management profile.

wlan traffic-management-profile "corporate"
bw-alloc virtual-ap <employee> share 80
bw-alloc virtual-ap <guest > share 20

ap-group default
dot11g-traffic-mgmt-profile "corporate"
dot11a-traffic-mgmt-profile "corporate"
