Controller Based WLANs

Product and Software: This article applies to all ArubaOS versions.

Starting in ArubaOS 3.3.2, the controller uses ARP to detect if users have disconnected from the network. When the user entry ages out from the user table, the user table entry is removed and a RADIUS stop record is generated if RADIUS accounting is enabled.

ArubaOS versions prior to 3.3.2 use ICMP to detect if a user is idle.
