How to configure the NAS IP address of a Branch office controller with a VLAN?

Apr 03, 2017 01:19 AM

Requirement:

The Mobility Controller should be minimum running AOS: 6.4.4.12 or above.

Solution:

Starting from ArubaOS 6.4.4.12, the NAS IP address of a branch office controller can be configured with a VLAN. If a NAS IP VLAN is not configured for a branch office controller, the IP address that is defined in the RADIUS server configuration is used as the NAS IP address.

Note:
Only 7200 Series controllers can server as a master controller for a group of branch controllers on a network.

Configuration:

From WebUI:

1. Navigate to Configuration > BRANCH > Smart Config page.
2. Select Routing.
3. Select a VLAN ID from the Override NAS drop-down list.
4. Click Apply.

Note: The BRANCH > Smart Config section of the master controller WebUI is available on the 7200 Series controllers only.

From CLI:

At the moment this option is available only from WebUI and not available from CLI.

Verification

We get the following error when we try to do the configuration from CLI

(Aruba) (config) #branch-config-group New-Group
Branch configuration supported only from Web GUI Smart Config page.
(Aruba) (config) #
