Steps To Change A MSM Access Point's DHCP IP Address To A STATIC IP Address

Aug 27, 2020 05:23 PM

Q:

What are the steps to set a HPE wireless MSM supported Access Point from a DHCP acquired ip address to a static ip address?

A:

You will need to do this from the MSM wireless controller GUI:

  • The first step is to connect to the MSM controller through your browser using its configured ip address and login. You will go to the “Network Tree”, and then go down the tree to the exact AP you want to set a static ip address. You will click/highlight the specific AP name. Then select the provisioning tab and then the connectivity tab.

  • You must un-click the inherited box and click the box next to the AP name. Then scroll down and select the Static box and enter the static ip address, mask, and default gateway for the AP.

  • Click the Save button

  • Synchronize and restart the AP
