What is the recommended length of console cable for Aruba AP's?

Question: What is the recommended length of console cable for Aruba AP's?

Product & Software: This article applies to all Aruba AP's.

The recommended length of console cable with RJ-45 connected to the console port of the AP and other end connected to the PC would be 100 meters.

The recommended length of console cable with RJ-45 connected to the console port of the AP and other end of the console cable floating on the PC end would be 75 meters.

When 100m Console Cable floating on PC side, on certain AP's it was observed the console screen printing on Laptop – during APboot booting and waiting for interrupt, there are lots of “spam” code/information shown on the console, which caused the AP hung up.

Note: RS-232 is Single-ended signaling and not supposed to be used for long distance transmission (RS-485 should be better choice for long distance and noisy environment). The actual RS-232 cable running distance with reliable transmission could vary a lot depending on the noise coupling, hazardous ground Loop, quality of the cable/connectors, etc.
