Question
Which protocol does controllers use among them for airgroup specific query and response?
Environment
This article applies to Aruba Mobility Controller running ArubaOS 6.3.0.0 or higher.
ArubaOS 6.3 supports a multi-controller AirGroup cluster. The AirGroup cluster can consist of multiple controllers in various configuration combinations such as master-master, master-local, and local- local.
In multi-controller deployment, each controller will independently maintain the cache for connected devices and
will respond with any matching records for any mDNS queries received from its wireless/wired users.
The
AirGroup controller maintains a multi-controller table that has a
list of all other controllers in the same domain. Thereby, controller
will also add meta data to same mDNS query and forward it to other controllers in the same domain using
Process Application Programming Interface (PAPI).
In response, other controllers will respond with matching records after applying appropriate policies.
