Jul 16, 2014 08:39 AM

We can kick off an inactive users from Aruba Instant when they're idle , This Inactivity timeout value is configurable

If a client session is inactive for a specified duration then the IAP will consecutively ping the client for 3 times with 1 sec interval. If no ping response is returned, the client is cleaned up from the user record. If the client replies, the user record is kept for another round of Inactivity timeout value.

The minimum value is set to 60 seconds and the default value is 1000 seconds.

Environment : This article applies to all Aruba Instant Access Points.

 1.  In the Networks tab of the Instant main window, click Edit . The New WLAN window appears.

If setting Inactivity Timeout value triggers IP spoofing events then lower the Inactivity Timeout value with respect to the DHCP lease time.

System administrators usually lower their lease time when they run out of IP addresses. When the lease time is equal or lower than the Inactivity timer, then IP spoofing event is triggered.
