    Hi Guys,
I am very new to Aruba world,

    The Issue :

"So we have 9 x IAP-305 and 2 x IAP-207 running smoothly in a cluster, We upgraded the OS to 8.4.0.0 which is the base OS version for AP-515,
When we add a 515 into the cluster it doesn't get detected by the cluster, Looks like it gets the IP from the DHCP and then goes off, LED's goes Red and Amber flashing.
We tried AP-515 on a separate cluster and it works but when we try to connect it to the network of IAP-305 it doesn't even get detected.
    What could be the issue?

We are using FG-500E as a firewall and we have POE switches (Entrasys C3G124-48p).

    Any Urgent Suggestions ?

    According to the installation Guide:

Device ready, restricted power mode (limited PoE power available, or IPM restrictions applied), uplink negotiated in sub-optimal speed

Could you check please Uplink and PoE provided

Your Test, have you done it on the same switch?

    Thanks For the response Cordless,

    Yes its the same switch,
But it doesn't support 802.3at, It only supports 802.3af,
I have also checked by enabling IPM on the 515 but it didn't help.

Yes, the both the FW versions are 8.4.0.0 (AP-515 and IAP-305)

    AP-51x

–802.3af POE (class 3):  not supported without IPM, unrestricted with IPM

–802.3at POE (class 4):  unrestricted (reduced USB power budget)

    –802.3bt POE (class 5):  unrestricted

    By Default IPM is disabled.

To enable it connect to the CLI an type the following:

    (Instant AP)(config)# ipm

    (Instant AP)(ipm)# enable

don´t forget to save config with

    (Instant AP)#write mem

    and apply config with

    (Instant AP)#commit apply

To alter the IPM priority list: - see more here:

    https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/Instant_85_WebHelp/Content/instant-ug/custom-iap-param/ipm.htm

I would like to recommend to upgrade the whole Cluster to Version 8.5.0.2 because in that Release the second version of Radio Driver for 802.11ax is implemented.

Yes Cordless, We have tried that as well, Is this even compatible with Entrasys-C3G124-48P ? As i have checked the port power on C3G124-48P , it is 9.50 W,

While As per datasheet the IAP max-power consumption in idle mode is 12.6 W  ...

    Hi,

Iplugged in a 515 as well and get the following data:

GE0/0/13: Administratively Enable, Port status: On
Maximum power: 30000 mW, Power consumption: 8100 mW
Port voltage: 55900 mV, Port current: 142 mA
PD class: Class-4, Priority: High, PSE port status: On

All my switches are .at capable. I have no .af Switch to test with.

But from the data I would assume that the issue would be on another page than PoE.

Have you checked uplink speed and duplex mode?

I would suggest to upgrade all parts to 8.5.0.2 which is the actual recommended version for .ax APs.

Is the AP515 running 8.4.0.0 or a different version? If so upgrade/downgrade the AP515 to 8.4.0.0. Is your existing IAP cluster also enabled to allow new APs? If not you may have to manually add the MAC of the AP515.
