    Hi!

     

    I got two 555s (they're not new) and I can't get _any_ access to these.

    Tried doing factory reset (push reset button while off, hold it for >15secs, release) and still nothing.

    I managed somehow to access one of these thru HTTP on its IP address and to upload an image, but it never came back.

    I can't see SetMeUp either.

     

    what do I do wrong?

    If they were bought used, or previously owned, try factory resetting them on a VLAN that has no internet access. They may be a part of someone’s activate account or Aruba central account. If it’s isolated, you can test to see if it was previously reaching out to Aruba Cloud services, and work with them to remove if needed.

    tried that, just tried that again.

    here's what happens (judging by traffic capture)

    1) it starts up

    2) grabs IP via DHCP

    3) Sends dozen oh ADP (Aruba Discovery Protocol) requests - gets no response obviously

    4) tries to resolve aruba-master.local 8 times

    5) repeats steps 3-4 several times

    6) goes to reboot and back to square 1

    Sounds like it’s acting like a campus AP and not an IAP. Do you have the ability to add it t a controller and run the redeploy controller less command on then to get them to IAP? 

    If not have you tried running the factory reset and purge commands via console cable in apboot mode?

    I think I agree with diagnosis.

    Unfortunately won't have any controller around for at least several months.

    No serial cable at hand either.

    I'm quite surprised that factory reset procedure doesn't bring it to default state, which, as I understand, is manual provisioning.

     

    Aruba support suggested RMA, which is probably a way to go in my situation
