What is the best practice procedure to merge two existing IAP clusters managed by Aruba Central without having a lot of reconfiguration and downtime?

Our situation:

Two IAP clusters (UAP-500 series) managed by Aruba Central in two separated VLANs (e.g. VLAN X, VLAN Y). VLAN X has to disappear, so we have to move all the access points from cluster X to cluster Y.

Is it sufficient to reboot all of the cluster X access points and put them in VLAN Y at the same time? Will the access points smoothly join the new cluster Y, including the access point which had the VC role in cluster X?

You should shutdown the IAP cluster, make the required switch port changes then bring the APs up in the new VLAN and join the existing cluster. The IAPs will boot up in the initial state and listen for beacons from an existing Master (the cluster which has been online all along..). The the IAP will receive a beacon from an existing Master with a valid IP address during the back off period it will then transition to the Slave state.

If you ensure that any items such as firmware versions (inc IAP models) are correct and auto-join is enabled will make the transition as smooth as possibly. Are these clusters going to be part of the same Group within Central?

Also, don't forget to take a backup of each cluster just in case
