Just looking to see how you all handle monitoring your wireless environment. Historically we did basic up/down monitoring through Solarwinds just so we knew if an AP was down. I was looking to see if there was a good way to try and be a little more proactive / ID if we are having connectivity issues in an area of our building(s) so I started polling our APs (Aerohive) via SNMP. But doing something as simple as tracking client count doesn't really seem like the best way to do it.

How do you all handle it? Or is it just "We have no APs down but a lot of people are calling in tickets for this area of the building.

the Aruba UXI sensors are an excellent way of monitoring how your wireless environment is functioning.  it provides for synthetic testing of wireless and wired networks against user-defined applications.
