    Hi there,

We are expanding our building and plan on replacing all our Apple Airport Extreme base stations with a true wireless mesh. I have used Aruba IAP's in the past and loved them, but I see that they are not offered with the new ax proctocol. Also, most online resellers seem to have the IAP's heavily discounted, almost as if they are being discontinued.

Are the IAP's going by the wayside and everything is going to be cloud managed from now on?

    thanks,

    - Doug

The name "IAP" is not longer used in the newer AP-500 series access points and now called "Unified AP".

Different AP sersies (IAP and Unified aswell) can mixed in a instant cluster as long as it can run the same Instant OS version. Check the datasheets to see which release is minimum required.

Just an extra comment about management: IAP's could always be managed by airwave (on-prem) and central (cloud) or just locally on the gui of the virtual controller. This concept didn't change as well, so all unified AP's can be managed locally, cloud or on-prem.
