I have 10 IAP 315. When I start to setup I found only 8 can join to virtual controller. Another 2 is joined to the separted virtual controller. I try assigned same virtual controller IP but it's not still joining.
I connected all 10 APs to one PoE switch with no uplink. Please advice how can I solve this issue. Thanks
There are several questions to answer here. I would start with these ones:
- Are they all Instant APs?
- Are they running the same firmware version?
- Are they configured in the same VLAN?

Hi Bro Kevin,
Yes, All IAPs
Same Firmware
Same VLAN
all are just in factory default setting.
@kevin_pm
Alright, thanks for the quick response. Let´s have a look at the following logs:
- show log debug
- show log ap-debug
- show log system
- show swarm mode
- show swarm state
Some questions:
- how are the APs getting the IP addresses?
- do you know the IP addresses/ MAC addresses of those APs that are not joining the cluster (good for debugging purposes)?
Hi Bro,
Currently, I am not with all 10 APs.But I take 3 APs (2 are those that cant join and 1 is from 8 joinable clusters)
to test at my home. For now testing all these 3 APs are in the same Virtual controller. Is there any maximum number of AP for the virtual controller? I can show u log tomorrow. Thank you.
Hi,
The maximum tested IAP cluster size is 128 IAPs in a cluster. So I guess that it should not be a problem. However, it would be interesting to check the logs if the problem remains
When I add all AP to cloud central it all work.
Thanks for your reply and support.
Great, glad to read that!
All the best,
