    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone out there has any experience with a issue like I have. I already logged a case with Aruba TAC. But at the moment there seems not a direct answer available and also TAC cannot find any clue in the logs which points us to a cause or solution. Still under investigation and escalated.

    This is the case:

We deployed a Aruba outdoor instant P2P mesh link between two locations (There is no any other Aruba wireless solution on this site)

    Both sides:

      o Aruba IAP-374
        - External 5GHz ANT-4x4-5314 (directional)
        - External 2.4 GHz ANT-2x2-2714 (directional)
        - AOS version 8.3.0.10
      o Distance between AP's is 700 metres
      o Clear Line of Sight
      o Antennas are visual aligned

The problem is that we experience about every 50-55 minutes connectivity issues with the remote site an a 10-12 minutes duration (see included pingmonitor screenshot)

During the connection failure the mesh link does not go down (see below show ap mesh link during connection failure) but also the Rx/Tx rate seems not to change. Not even the remote AP does a reboot which is normal behaviour after some timeout while having a bad mesh link.

TAC advised to test with a fixed 5GHz portal channel (120) and fixed portal power setting of 28 dBm and Wide Channels disabled. But the result stays the same.

    P2P-Portal# show ap mesh link

    Environment:
o Hardly no other 5GHz channels around which can interfere with our P2P mesh link (some lower channels UNII-1 & UNII-2 seen only)
o No radar detect messsages which can cause unpredicted channel changes
o Only 2.4 GHz interferers seen in the list

As a workaround we installed a even simple as cheap EnGenius ENS500-ACv2 solution which does the job now (!?) without any issues.

I hope there is any airhead out there that recognizes or has experience with this kind of issue which can help us finding a solution?

The problem is solved! Aruba TAC found a issue with port bridging on the Mesh Point (remote site). This issue is firmware related.

After lots of testing by the TAC engineer they found out that from firmware version 8.5.0.4 the issue seems gone. Architecture changes (!)

After getting the original P2P mesh operational and firmware version 8.5.0.4 applied the issue is really gone. Customer happy.
