I am having a hard time understanding the difference between the min and max transmit power settings under the Access Point Control section in the ARM tab shown below, versus the values that are in the Radio tab, shown further below

Which one takes effect (precedence) ? 

Will changing these values cause the APs to restart/reboot?

Your expertise is much appreciated :-)

My goal is to perform a site survey to verify my claims that the Min TX is set too high and to recommend reducing this. But I need to know which part of the config is the right lever to pull ;-)

If "customize arm power range" is not checked for each radio, the tx power for that radio will be what is on the ARM page.  The "customize" checkbox allows you to have a separate power range for each band.

Thanks that explains my question about how to configure things.  In my customer's case the "customize arm power range" was not checked and if I understand correctly,  this means min=24 and max=30 should have applied to both 2.4 and 5Ghz radios across the board.

I am checking all the AP's ARM history (show ap arm history ) and I can see cases where the AP has value as low as 12 ... how is this possible? Is there another setting I overlooked?

Those look like statically configured power

EDIT: I meant to say it looked like the ARM parameters were changed.

I see this on all of the AP's and it happens in intervals of minutes on all of them.  The column data does say "configured" but the customer does not configure these values.  It's all done via ARM and the Reason is stated as being either due to Interference or P+ / P-

It's certainly interesting but bizarre.

Are the ARM ranges configured properly right now?

We have not touched the config at all.  I wanted to first understand what the system was doing.  I have pulled the ARM history from all of the AP's and looked at them.  What I have now realised is that the customer must have set the min/max values some time last year ... because I found a few AP's where the Tx power was around 12 or 15 - but that was a few months ago.

A "layer 8" issue ;-)

Excuse me, my comment above should say that the ARM ranges, were changed....NOT static configuration...
