    Hi everyone.

I've recently upgraded access points to software version 6.4.0.2-4.1.0.0 and AP-105 access points are working fine, but AP-135 ones in the installation keeps rebooting after a kernel problem. I was wondering if you have faced similar problems and what is the workaround for it.

    We are running a small installation consisting of a total of 7 Access points , 5 AP-105s and 2 ( failed ) AP-135 . 3 SSIDs , 2 Vlans, and less than 80 clients.

    Thanks

    Ali

When you did the upgrade did you manually browse to the file locally on your PC or did you let the VC check the cloud-based upgrade server and pull the upgrade from there?

If you upgraded manually the file you used was for the IAP-105 only.  So, you may have a situation where the IAP-105s are running v.4.1.0.0 but the IAP-135s are still running older SW.

The quickest way to remedy this, if the above is the case, will be to disconnect the IAP-135s from the network and bring them up independant of the 105s.  Log in and check the version and manually upgrade if necessary with the appropriate file for the IAP-135.

I allowed the VC to upgrade them, and according to the Console connection : AP-135s are running identical software versions to 105s.

When They boot up, using the 4.1.0.0 they show up in the web interface for Virtual controller, run for about a minuet or two, pickup clients, seem to function properly,  and then the kernel error happens and they reboot and same cycle happens.
When they are booted up into the backup image, they wont find the Virtual controller and reboot automatically .

In that case you best course of action will be to log a TAC case to debug the kernel panic.
