One of our customers is planning on deploying a WLAN at their home. They will surely deploy an Instant solution. They have several issues that they asked us to confirm:

    - Can they time the access points to turn off signal only for a specific period of time?

    - They checked the AppRF feature and would like to know if they can receive reports in a timely manner that include details on app and device usage

    - If a certain application runs on multiple devices, does AppRF show utilization per user and per device simultaneously? Or is it general utilization per app or per device?

    Hey,

Can they time the access points to turn off signal only for a specific period of time? Yes, this can be done on a per SSID basis.

    - They checked the AppRF feature and would like to know if they can receive reports in a timely manner that include details on app and device usage - Only if using Aruba Central or AirWave for Reporting.

    - If a certain application runs on multiple devices, does AppRF show utilization per user and per device simultaneously? Or is it general utilization per app or per device? AppRF dashboard presents four different graph areas with data graphs on all client traffic and content
filters based on App Category, Web Category, and Web Reputation. Click each category to view the real-time
client traffic data or usage trend in the last 15 minutes or 1 minute.

Further information can be found in the documentation.

Thank you Zalion for your reply.

Is there any documentation to show how timing per SSID can be done?

One more thing please.. the AppRF dashboard that allows category filtering is accessible without the need to deploy AirWave or Central right?

Correct however the data is only shown for a short period of time. If want historical data then Central or Airwave is a good solution.
