    Hi,

we are currently evaluating Aruba APs. After a first stress test, we found that the web interface is barely available/responding when the IAP is under high pressure (which is: one test client downloading a big file). Is there any way to priorize the gui/management traffic of the AP?

    Thanks in advance!

    Best,

    Tim

What version of IAP OS do you have install ?

What type IAP are you using ?

Where's the high traffic on the wired or wireless ?

Do you drop broadcast / multicast ?

    Hi,

    thanks for the fast response.

    AP: RAP-109

    OS Version: 6.2.0.0-3.2.0.0_36559

Traffic: A wireless client (connected to the rap) downloaded a big file from the wired network.

I just configured broadcast/multicast drop. It was not configured when we ran the test.

I suggest you upgrade to a later version that it's pretty old and if you are not using an application that requires multicast then you should consider enabling drop/multicast this will allow you to have a better wireless transmissions

Is this VLAN used anywhere else on your network ?

If you have a continuous ping going from the client do you see a lot drops ?

Are you transferring the file from the outside to your internal network ?

    Tim,

There are more reasons to upgrade from version 3.2 (release date december 2012!)  to a recent version, but Instant version 3.4 introduced a feature 'Dynamic CPU Management protection' that solves exactly that what you describe.

If you have internet connectivity from your Instant AP, go to Maintenance, then Firmware and 'Check for new Firmware'. It will allow you to upgrade to the 4.0 release, no support contracts required.

Actually, updating to the latest firmware did the trick. Thanks!
