Important: Kernel security and bug fix update

Security Advisory RHSA-2009:1193-1 was issued by Red Hat on 2009-08-04.

The packages in the CentOS operating system bundled with the AWMS server are developed by a third party; AirWave support recommends updating the kernel version according to the security advisory from Red Hat Network. This is particularly important if you have made any custom modifications to the operating system or are running Red Hat Linux rather than CentOS. Please refer to the linked security advisory for more information about the specific issues addressed in the new version of the kernel.

Post-update issues:

eth0 not found after reboot

We have seen this happen on a few occasions and have found three possible solutions.

1. Swap to eth1, then swap back to eth0.

2. If that doesn't work, reboot again. (This has worked for us in a few instances. On one occasion a user had to reboot four times to get it to work.)

3. As an alternate to #2 above: unplug eth0, reboot, plug eth0 back in again.
