Unable to update long name for IAP host name using IGC

Why we could not update long name for IAP using IGC?

– Environment
When we update a long name for Virtual Controller or IAP in IGC it would not get push to the device.

– Answer
Hostname of an IAP can be only be 32 characters.

AP1# hostname whyiapcantacceptlongnamewhenitisupdatedusingIGC
Name Too Long: whyiapcantacceptlongnamewhenitisupdatedusingIGC. Cannot be more than 32 characters
