Hello,

we have a little issue with our airwave management system. The CPU usage is at 100% since 4-5 days. Previously it was around 25-35%. In the cli we see that most of the CPU is consumed by the http daemon.  We already tried to restart the http daemon or to reboot the entire management system - without success. Also the httpd error log is empty. Is this a known problem?

We dont have any known issue related to CPU, have you made any changes to server in last one week?

Check system>performance page to see which process is taking more CPU.

Thanks for the quick reply. We are still testing airwave, so changes has been made. We've added two of our core switches, but removed them for troubleshooting. In addition, a template was created which isn't used. I don't know anything about other changes.

Its looks issue started last week, may i know number of devices you monitoring and RAM and CPU cores allocated, is it installed on VM or Hardware appliance?

We are monitoring 255 devices, with 24GB RAM and a 4x 2.60GHz CPU. AirWave ist installed on VM (VMware).

Does the resources are set to shared or reserved for this instance in VM host machine? It is all ways recommand to reserve the resources to Airwave instance and allocated CPU cores are physical not Hyper-Thread.

If allocated cores are hyper thread increase more and also need to allocate 20%  more resource for Airwave server installed on VM envoirment.

If large number of syslog&traps coming to Airwave in system>syslog&trap page try disable unwanted traps on controller and also change syslog logging level if it set to debug!

There aren't many syslogs & traps coming into airwave (around two per day), because most devices haven't traps enabled.

The resources are set to shared, but there is no bottleneck at the virtual environment. The problem seems to be the http daemon.

I would encourage you to open a TAC case, to narrow down this issue for you.
