    Hi Guys,

Just wanted to ask if it is possible to monitor individual switch ports within AirWave and create alerts if the ports go down?

In particular configuring this with 2930F, 3810, and 5400 HPe switches.

Also if you could confirm if this can be done with any other switch vendors.

    Thanks,

If you recieve a SNMP trap from the switch in question when the port is down, you can trigger an alert on AirWave to inform you of this trap.

Thanks for the confirmation that it can done.

Now how do you configure this from AirWave side, I have seen the following traiggers within AirWave:

    - Device Uplink status

    - Interface Usage

    - Interface errors

How would you configure the alert in AirWave to act on the trap?
I cannot see which catogory this would fit into on the trigger section, am i looking into the right section or should this be configured another way.

in the first instance you need to find the exact trap generated by your switch when the event occurs. Then base a trigger on Device Event with either Event Contents or Event Type using the generate trap.
