    Hello,

We are configuring for the first time the monitoring of an Aruba 5406R zl2 switch from ariwave.
Currently we have created some triggers to warn us when certain ports fall, and it is working, but since airwave detected in "syslog & traps" the problem until that appears in "alerts" spend 5 minutes.
Is it possible to change this?

    Thank you.

    Greetings.

We can modifiy snmp polling intervals in Groups>Basic page but not syslog&trap interval.

How does airwave process a trap snmp that has a trigger associated?.

How long does it take to generate the alert?

Airwave trigger alert immediately when it receive matching conditon data. Traps/syslog is forward by controller to server, if airwave is added as trap receiver in controller.

Using SNMP protocol it polls the controller depend on configured polling interval to get device data.

    Hi pavan,

the configuration of the switch is as follow:

    snmp-server community "airwave" unrestricted
    snmp-server host 10.223.103.101 community "airwave" trap-level all
    snmp-server enable traps vsf
    snmp-server trap-source 192.168.201.15 (ip switch)

    On the airwave:

    I attach images.

As you can see in the images, the difference between the trap receipt and the alert, is 5 minutes.

    Best Regards.

    Hi Ruben,

Any particular reason why we have the default polling values changed? If not could we try setting it to default and check onces? Atleast the up/down polling to 5 from 15. Below is a screen shot from lab server with the default values.

    Hello,

Did you ever find a solution for this problem?

I'm currently doing some testing and I've noticed the same delays.

The SNMP trap comes in but then it takes up to 5 min before I see an entry in the event log and an alert is generated.

Is this a VM or an Appliance? I would suggest looking into the performance once. TAC case will be ideal.
