How does AirWave know what a possible radio vendor is?

    Take this screenshot from RAPIDS:

    I get that the second bit of the first byte determines the type of MAC, if it's a 0 that's an ICANN assigned number if it's a 1 that's a locally assigned number and if you flip that bit on this MAC it turns from a locally assigned MAC to an Intel MAC.

     

    Does AirWave include that logic in RAPIDS? I assume yes, would just like confirmation.

    Yes, there is an OUI table in the database that has a list that maps the registered device type MACs against vendors.  Typically, the first 3 octets of a MAC addr is enough to determine vendor.  The table gets updated with newer releases.
