    (Some) Android devices need to re enter their username and password in our Captive Portal everytime they go out of Wifi range, even if it's for a few minutes. Meanwhile other users reconnect automatically even when they go to a branch office +15 minutes away. Does anybody have an idea why? We use a controller + clearpass with a captive portal for guests. (sorry for the lack of info, but I'm not sure what info I should be giving. Just ask away)

    Thanks in advance for enlightening me.

    By default all users should have to reauthenticate when they go out of wifi range for 5 to 20 minutes or more.  With ClearP:ass, you can enable mac caching which would allow you to extend this indefinitely, if desired.  You would need to look at clearpass to see how mac caching is configured to understand what is happening.;
