I just noticed that Chrome on Android devices reports SSL error "err_cert_common_name_invalid" when you go to an HTTPS site and are redirected to the captive portal.  I don't often connect to our guest network so I just noticed this.  The Chrome error message indicates this may be the result of  'a Wi-Fi sign-in screen...'.  I'm wondering if this is a Chrome security enhancement that rolled out recently and if there is anyway to keep it from occuring while still using HTTPS on the captive portal?

Yes, they've enabled strict checking now. The only current solution is to either use http or use an interim http page and then do a meta redirect to the SSL page.

    Thanks,

Good suggestion.  I'll try the latter.  Thanks Tim!
