Clearpass Guest 6.7 not autosending emails

We have a new clearpass 6.7 (6.7.0.35289) instance that cannot autosend emails on a guest registration.

 

We see this error in the application log:

Internal error: Cannot send message using background task
Client:    <clientIP>:59483
App User:  admin
Script:    /guest/Guest.php
Function:  NwaSmtpOnAfterGuestCreate
Arguments: array (
  'result' => NULL,
)

 If we set the email to send on link click the email sends fine:

Guest receipt was sent to allyn@xxx.com
Client:    <clientIP>:57919
App User:  admin
Script:    cpg_background.php
Function:  NwaSmtpOnAfterGuestCreate
Arguments: true

A google search shows no results for this... Any help would be appreciated...

Please work with Aruba TAC so they can watch the logs in real-time.

After a couple hours with TAC turns out this is a bug in Clearpass 6.7.0 that will be fixed in CPPM 6.7.1

 

Per TAC:

  • Found a bug already filled for this issue with Bug #43602
  • Informed customer that the issue is fixed in 6.7.1 

Until that version si released the work around is manually sending the emails. We simply added the link on the receipt page.

Hello good afternoon, I have the same problem but I would like to know how I entered the link on the receipt page, what is the link and / or how would the procedure for this be.

Sorry for the formulation of the question but I am a bit new in handling clearpass and I am doing laboratory tests for certification.
