    Hi Guys,

Just checking if there anyone here having device type identification issue with Samsung S7 in Clearpass 6.5?

In the access tracker, it doesn't return device type attribute during the samsung S7 authentication. This is only happened on Samsung S7 while the rest phone are fine which it able to fetch and return the device type and it will correctly hit on the rules I created.

For example, if the device type is smartphone, it willl return "smartphone" role to the controller.

But now the access tracker logs for the samsung s7 doesn't contain the device type attribute and it is hitting the wrong rules.

    Please help.

Are you using ClearPass profiling or the controller's device type in the
    RADIUS request?

I would not rely only on the controller's fingerprint. It will not always be
    there.

    Hi cappalli,
