Publisher and backup question

    Hi Forum,

     

    If a publisher and it's backup publisher both fail, I know that I can logon to any of my subscriber and promote them to a publisher MANUALLY. Is there any other way to automate this?

    Unfortunately there's no option for a secondary standby server , if both (Publisher/standby) are down then the only option available to bring a new publisher online is manually

    Also remember that if both go down the only thing you CAN'T do is add a new guest or Onboard.

    Got it. I just had someone tell me that is it possible and want to ask in case 6.6 has some crazy knob for subscribers to claim the publisher role automatically.
