    I'd really appreciate some help and sorry if this is quite basic. I have a switch that was running YA.16.04.0008 in the primary image, which had a simple modern Aruba web GUI. I then 'updated' the firmware to YA.16.02.0027 in the primary image and I have now reverted to the old web GUI. Can anyone please explain this or let me know how I get the more modern interface back? Thanks in advance

    IIRC ArubaOS-Switch software branch 16.02.0027 (so newer than minimum 16.02.0008 version for new GUI) supported Next Generation GUI as long as it did the other software branch 16.04 (any release)...you downgraded from 16.04 to 16.02 (generally that is not a best practice)...the Next Generation GUI should be available (not as default)...just check the dashboard.

     

    I strongly suggest you to upgrade instead of downgrade.

    Greetings!

     

    The 'next-generation' web UI (with Aruba branding) was introduced for the 2530 in the 16.03 software release, so you will need to go back to the 16.03 release or newer to return to the new UI style. (Downgrading to an older switch software release, while generally supported, does not retain features that were introduced in newer versions.)

    Oh my bad Matthew...you're super right...on Aruba 2530 Switch Series...the Next Generation GUI arrived later than on other series (I didn't take time to verify and I just guessed...only to discover later that - silly me - it was me on HPE Community writing about that for Aruba 2530 2 years ago! ...indeed Next Generation GUI was released with 16.03.0003 on YA Software Branch).

    Thanks folks, I really appreciate you taking the time to help. I thought the numbering was counterintuitive in terms of upgrading but I could have sworn the website showed the older version as a newer release! Much appreciated.
