    Hi,

I try to connect 2 switch 2930F whit SPF cables in VSF mode.

    My câbles are HPE JH694A

    My config :

    First switch :

    vsf
       enable domain 3
       member 1
          type "JL255A" mac-address 089734-9a9900
          priority 150
          link 1 1/25
          link 1 name "I-Link1_1"
          link 2 1/26
          link 2 name "I-Link1_2"
          exit
       port-speed 10g
       exit

    Second switch

    vsf
       enable domain 3
       member 2
          type "JL255A" mac-address 089734-9a4a00
          priority 128
          link 1 2/25
          link 1 name "I-Link2_1"
          link 2 2/26
          link 2 name "I-Link2_2"
          exit
       port-speed 10g
       exit

    Ports 1/25, 1/26, 2/25 and 2/26 stay fixed orange.

    I have allready activate

    allow-unsupported-transceiver

    When I check I have :

    # show interface transceiver detail

    Transceiver in 1/25*

AFAIK VSF doesn't form when unsupported Transceivers or DACs are used for VSF Link(s).

Aruba 2930F supports these two DAC cables:

    • Aruba 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 1 m Direct Attach Copper Cable

      J9281D

    • Aruba 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 3 m Direct Attach Copper Cable J9283D

Hardware revision B (J9281B and J9283B) should be supported too.

So you can eventually try to use unsupported SFP/SFP+ Transceivers or DACs but not to create VSF Link(s).

I suspect the HPE JH694A is the SKU of a old DAC cable unsupported on Aruba 2930F (at least to form VSF Link(s)).

    Ok,

The stranger thing is that VSF has worked on my desk.

I put everything in my rack, nothing work.

I remove vsf configuration and configure it again, I plug câbles, ports goes green, the slave switch reboot but after the reboot vsf doesn't work and ports stay orange.

With exactly the same hardware and software configurations?

Yes, exactly the same configuration and hardware (maybe spf cables were interchanged, it's the only thing that can have change).

My IMC discover it correctly when VSF worked on my desk :

    Did you find the solution?

I have posted a process to use unsupported third-party transceivers here:

    VSF with non-standard transceivers

It should help you plan a solution. Only supported transceivers are recommended in general, but especially for VSF links.
