We are looking at configuring two 5406R zl2 switches as our core switch(es) but we want to use VSF to simplify our topology and configurations (manage configurations as if we had one chassis). We need to leverage the routing features of the switch (BGP and static routes).
We read through the configuration guide and we understand the limitations (one management module per chassis, 10/40Gb SFP+ for VSF links, v3 modules only, etc...) and the premise that the VSF will create one logical switch across both chassis therefore we can avoid using VRRP for our router redundancy.
I tried finding direct responses to what we are seeking but we couldn't find anything explicitly answering our question. So before we purchase 10Gb SFP+ v3 modules to put in these chassis to form the VSF, we would like to confirm that using VSF across two chassis will permit us to configure the logical switch in the same fashion as if this was a single chassis switch/router (single BGP instance on logical switch, single router IP for VLANs on logical switch, etc...).
