Aruba 2530 connecting from Putty serial

    I am having dificulty connecting from Putty in Win 10 to usb consol port.

     

    *HP Aruba 2530 48G PoE+ J9772A

    *Win 10

    * HP USB driver installed

    * Putty

    --Serial COM3

    --9600 speed

    --8 data bits

    --1 Stop bit

    --Parity = none

    --Flow control = none.

     

    All i get is a black putty window...

    do you have check the COM port ?

    Have you tried <enter> <enter> <enter> (three times the enter key)?

     

    The ArubaOS console will wake up only after that sequence.

    I have the same issue - enter 3 times does not do anything. Black screen with a blinking cursor is all I get in putty.

    Do you know the cable is working? Also, some switches have a mgmt port and console port close to each other, both RJ45. You will need to plug in the console port for serial connection, the mgmt port is an ethernet port.

    try scrolling through and attempt a connection on the other  'COM' ports on putty other than just COM3',  even if 'COM3'  looks like the com session that should be open and working.

    The driver may have opened another 'COM' session ​other than COM3. I've experienced this several times on my own set-up.
