Re: ArubaOS-CX on ESXI

Only differnece i see is that i use qemu 3.1 instead 2.5 ...

I will have a try with 2.5

€: The pdf is showing qemu binary v2.5, but in gns3 2.3.3 you can only swith between qemu 3.1 and 2.1

--> still no connection (qemu 2.1)

Re: ArubaOS-CX on ESXI

it comes up to green, but no ping between to switches, no mac in mac table, no lldp -> switches do not see each other:

SW1

sh ip int brief all-vrfs

1/1/1    10.0.0.1/30          up/up

sh int 1/1/1

RX0

TX 143

SW2

sh ip int brief all-vrfs

1/1/1    10.0.0.2/30          up/up

sh int 1/1/1

RX 0

TX 46

Connection in GNS3

SW1_1/1/1-----------------SW2_1/1/1

Re: ArubaOS-CX on ESXI

Did you use interface0 or interface1 ?

interface0 in the template is the management OOBM interface.

interface1 should be the first (i.e 1/1/1)

If this is the case, then try shut/no shut 1/1/1 on both nodes.

Re: ArubaOS-CX on ESXI

I have another issue with GNS3, the VM is stuck for a long time on "Failed to start System Logging Service", after 10 minutes it's stuck on "Started Update UTMP about System Runlevel Changes."

Is there a way to skip this? I'ts a new installation of GNS3 on new hardware. I had it working in the past, but now im stuck and can't get it to boot up.

Thanks!

Re: ArubaOS-CX on ESXI

I am using interface 1/1/1. Shutdown / no shutdown does not help.

One more think i noticed.  On e.g. SW1 i see other Mac Adress in show interfaces, than i see in gns3 settings

e.g.  show interfaces 1/1/1

MAC Addres: 08:00:09......

in gns3 i see:

Adapter 1      Ethernet  1     virtio-net-pci    0c:2a:cb.............

Re: ArubaOS-CX on ESXI

1 more thing:

I have no physical nic assigned  on ESXi. There is GNS3 VM on a virtual switch and another VM as gateway for GNS3 VM which allows GNS3 to lconnect to realworld.

i also added vm option vhv.enable = true, but still no connection

Re: ArubaOS-CX on ESXI

Hi All,

I tried to install the ArubaOS-CX 10.04 on eve-ng (running on ESXi 6.5). The installation was smooth except the last step with fix permissions:

/opt/unetlab/wrappers/unl_wrapper -a fixpermissions

It is giving me an error with line 71 in init.php.

Problem 2: When I try to start the console of Aruba Switch in Eve-ng, it gives me a connection timeout error.

Has someone faced a similar issue, and is there any workaround for it.

thanks a lot for the help.

Re: ArubaOS-CX on ESXI

Have you enable promiscuous mode in ESXi?
Do you use latest EveNG Community?

# mkdir /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/aruba-cx-10_02
scp ArubaOS-CX_10_02_0010_ova.zip into /tmp
# cd /tmp
# unzip ArubaOS-CX_10_02_0010_ova.zip
# tar xf ArubaOS-CX_10_02_0010.ova
# /opt/qemu/bin/qemu-img convert -f vmdk -O qcow2 arubaoscx-disk-image-genericx86-p4-20190129201401.vmdk /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/aruba-cx-10_02/hda.qcow2
# /opt/unetlab/wrappers/unl_wrapper -a fixpermissions
