Product and Software: This article applies to the Mobility Access Switch S3500 switch.
Port mirroring allows ingress/egress packets on the port(s) to be mirrored. Packets are sent to the destination without any modification at Layer 2. Any number of network ports can be configured for monitoring. Port-channel can also be the source of the mirroring. If amount of bandwidth for source is greater than the destination, packets loss can occur. S3500 will not distinguish whether source port(s) are Layer 2 access or trunk interfaces.
- S3500 can be configured to mirror at a ratio of one out of "X" packets (1:X) to the destination. "X" can be a value between 0 and 2,047.
Ratio X: Description
0 No packets are mirrored to the destination.
1 All packets are mirrored to the destination.
2047 1 out of 2047 packets are mirrored to the destination.
