    Hi everybody,

When I connect a (non-supported) 10G RJ-45 SFP+ transceiver to a Aruba 2930f and the other end of the cable to a Aruba 8320 (10G RJ-45 port), both ports come online and the connection is working.

When I configure both ports to a dynamic link-aggrgation, the port on the 2930f does not come up.

I know, that the transceiver is not supported, but I wonder, why the connection is working without lacp, but not with lacp enabled.

    Any suggestions?

Hi! can you provide evidence of LACP status on both peers?

Hi, the LACP status is DOWN, because the physical link / port status is down. If I unplug the transceiver from the LACP configured port (on 2930f) and plug it into a "normal" configured port, the link goes online immediately. On 8320 side, the port is up, but the link aggregation is down (because the port on the other side is not configured as link aggregation).

Do you have any idea how to solve this or how to connect 2930f (JL256) and 8320 (JL581A) with redundant 10G? From comware I know 40G to 4x 10G splitter cable, but afaik Aruba does not support this.

Can you show us the outputs of some usual and well known show CLI commands related to LACP and to involved interfaces' status executed on your Aruba 2930f and on your Aruba 8320?

    Hi,

the config on the 8320 has been deleted, so I had to do the lag setup again and it worked immediately, but with other 10G copper transceivers for the 2930f (also not supported). I guess there was some previous configuration on the 8320 that caused the lag not to work properly last time.

Glad this fixed...but we will never know how was wrong (and why it was wrong) since you never showed us any part of related configurations nor outputs of relevant show commands.

Yes you're right - next time I will provide more information from the beginning. It bothers me as well not to know why it didn't work the last time.
