Up !
I know that this topic is nearly 5 years old but I have concerns about PTP on the 2930M. I work on a network design as presales and we plan to use 2930M switches in a PTP transparent environment.
However the datasheet states : "IEEE 1588v2 (PTP) is not supported on the following 2930M models: JL323A, JL324A, R0M67A, R0M68A or 2930M modules: JL325A, JL078A, JL081A, JL083A"
but I need 10gig uplinks. as far as I know of the JL083A is the only module providing 10G uplinks. But according to the discussion above it seems that if i don't use macsec (we don't need it) it would work ?
I suppose it's just about timestamping and computing the residence time within the switch, what is the current status with the latest firmware about the PTP support on the 2930M product line and 10G uplinks ? We plan to use 24 and 48 ports 1G switches for the access ports.
Thanks
