    Hi all,

We have 2 Aruba Switches in stack. The problem is that we need to replace one of them.

    Switch# sh vsf

    VSF Domain ID : 1
    MAC Address :
    VSF Topology : Chain
    VSF Status : Active
    Uptime : 28d 21h 43m
    VSF MAD : None
    VSF Port Speed : 1G
    Software Version : WC.16.08.0003

    Mbr
ID MAC Address Model Pri Status
    --- ----------------- ------------------------------------- --- ---------------
    1 XXXXXXXXXXXXX Aruba JL261A 2930F-24G-PoE+-4SFP S... 128 Standby
    2 XXXXXXXXXXXXXX Aruba JL261A 2930F-24G-PoE+-4SFP S... 128 Commander

We have to replace the 1 member. I have read some information but I want to be sure which is the best precedure to do the replacing.

    - Do we have to configure the new unit? Or If it's in factory config it's OK?

-Do we have to stop the second unit when we form the stack?

    - Is there any manual to do this step by step?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Best regards,

    Roger

    Hi,

You can find those steps here in the Management and Config Guide:

    Just a short question.

The new switch which is in factory config, has to be in the same version as the other switch that are working in the stack? Or it will be automatically updated when we join to the stack

Do we have to stop the other switchs during the swap or it's not necessary?

    Best regards,

    ROger
