We have two 5400 series switches, one 5412R zl2 and one 5406R zl2, that are currently running firmware version 16.02.0009. Does anyone have a suggestion on what version we should go to from here? Looks like the most recent is 16.08. If we wanted to go to that, is there a recommended upgrade path from 16.02?

    Thanks.

You can safely go directly to 16.08.0003 from 16.02.0009 OR, if features covered by 16.08 (in comparison to what you have on 16.02) are not relevant to your scenario, you can stay a little bit longer on 16.02 and just update to 16.02.0027 (May 2019)...in any case be prepared to a dual automatic sequenced reboot due to the fact your Switch's BootROM will be updated too (See release notes)...indeed the 16.02.0009 still uses BootROM version KB.15.01.0001 while KB.16.02.0027/KB.16.08.0003 both use BootROM version KB.16.01.0006 (so the BootROM update is mandatory).

Thanks for the info - much appreciated!

If I could make one further inquiry - we have Aruba MAS S2500s in the network edge - currently on version 7.4.1.8. Can we go directly from there to version 7.4.1.10?

    Thanks again!

Not a super expert on Aruba MAS (Mobility Access Switches) Switch Series and the ArubaOS network operating system they run on BUT, given that ArubaOS 7.4.1.10 is just a patch release, I'm quite sure that you can update directly from ArubaOS 7.4.1.8 to lastest (the 7.4.1.8 is not too far from the 7.4.1.10).

In any case please read the relevant ArubaOS 7.4.1.10 Release Note (especially for (a) new features, (b) solved bugs and (c) update procedures and best practices).
