Not sure if I am missing something here.  We have a handheld scanner device that I am trying to get on our internal wirless.  I tried using the User derivation rule using the mac address of the device and put it in 'Authenticated' role.  I even tried the server derivation rule with mac address.  The device does not connect.  The internal SSID setup uses certificate validation against a Windows NPS server.  I would like to bypass this if possible.  Any suggestions are welcomed.

    Thanks,

    Bill

    Does the device support 802.1X?

It does.  Device has Windows CE platform on it.  Trying avoid putting a cert on it if I can...

You could configure NPS to allow PEAP as well and use a username/password on the device.

Anyway we could use User Rules to set role to authenticate?

No. You still have to pass 802.1X authentication.

Had the NPS admins add new policy for PEAP auth. New user account and password created.  All works like a champ.  Thanks for the help.
