    Hi all,

We are migrating  from AOS version 6 to AOS version 8.
So the config from the controllers will be rebuild in the MM.

Currently in airwave, we have alot of maps with access points placed on it. When we finisch migrating the controllers, what will happen with the maps in airwave? Do we need to rebuild all maps or is there a way to keep the maps with aps as they are at this moment?

    Thanks

We dont need to rebuild all the maps, if APs which are getting terminated on MM/MD have same MAC address as old 6.x code. APs status will show UP in VisualRF, it will automatically syncronize with AMP.

    Hello Pavan,

I assume this also applies to a scenario where a customer does NOT migrate from v6 to v8 but decides to build a brand-new v8 cluster (incl MM). Still all (2000+) AP's remain at the same position in the various floorplans in VisualRF in AirWave without having them repositioned again? That would be great!

Does that also mean that if the AP's get a new name through provisioning, they again remain at the same position in the various floorplan in VisualRF?

Yes you are right, if mac address is same, VisualRF will automatically syncronized and names will get updated.
