Aruba AP on higher ceiling considerations

Hi Forum,

On a ceiling that is 30ft high, what are the considerations that I should keep in mind when placing AP? what difference should I think about from a conventional 10ft high?

Thanks,

Guru Elite

Re: Aruba AP on higher ceiling considerations

What kind of space is it?  Open?  Are there walls?  High density?  There are many considerations.

Mixed office space of cubicles and conference rooms.

Re: Aruba AP on higher ceiling considerations

Generally speaking 30ft should be ok using the standard built-in antennas of the indoor campus APs.

What's the horizontal) AP to AP spacing?

As a general guideline, you may want to consider more directional antennas if the AP-AP spacing is less than the vertical AP height.

Re: Aruba AP on higher ceiling considerations

The horizontal AP spacing is 50ft center-to-center. So external antennas or the built in one are fine?!

I would not anticipate any issues using the built-in ones.

Re: Aruba AP on higher ceiling considerations

This is an old thread. You may want to post a new question with more details on what you need. It's not clear from this post. Thanks!
