    Hello

I am looking to connect some Aruba 7200-MMC's into a Cisco Cat 500, does anyone know if the Aruba DAC-SFP-10GE-5M DAC will work in the Cisco 6500?

What linecard is in the 6500? Many 10G forwarding cards use the X2 style optics and won't accept an SFP+ DAC cable.

Also, generally Cisco devices don't like other vendor's optics/modules, but you can disable the error-checking.

Good question! We are in a closed tender so we can't really find out and the quantity of port we will be using will mean they need a new card anyway.

I have just looked at they don't have much SFP+ support o nthe 6500 so I guess optical is what it will be!

    Thanks

these DAC cables are annoying when you want to connect anything else then the same vendor, neither vendor is usually willing to support a DAC cable from another vendor, even though this is all based on standards, bit of a shame.
