    Hi,

I have a handful of Aruba IAP-105s. I was wondering if I can run the IPS/IDS functionality on them without using them as an actual AP, essentialy turning them into just a sensor. I was looking through the user guide and I couldn't tell if this would work.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Yes, you can make the IAP an air monitor.

Thanks @rvincent, the air monitor was the keyword I needed for my search.

In case any stumbles across this posting here is a link to a KB for switching an Instant AP to a monitor.
