ClearPass Profile Module

    Hello,

     

    I have a small inquiry, If I have already an Aruba WLC, and want to but a ClearPass solution for BYOD, Do I need to get the Profile module or the controller will recognized the devices on behalf of ClearPass and send it the details ?

    Assuming you are referring to Onboarding when you say BYOD, the Profile module is not required.   ClearPass will detect the OS type and provide the proper onboarding profiles and configuration sets.    This is done without Profile or the controller passing any information to ClearPass.   The Profile module gives you more insight into all endpoints, not just BYOD scenarios.   The results of Profile can then be used to apply specific poilicies to devices as they authenticate.
