Clients Dropping packets through AP over WAN

AP's are connected to Meraki Switches then routers. The routers are creating a VPN tunnel to the DC where the Aruba VMC and VMM are. Today, all of the sudden, all remote/branch AP's started having issues where traffic going through the AP is dropping packets to the point it's unusable. Traffic direct over the underlay, not going through the AP (wired) is fine.

We have the MTU's set in the AP syste profile set to 1200 or around there. So we don't think it's an MTU issue with a VPN in a VPN problem. However, it appears to be an issue related.

Can anyone provide help into how to diganose this issue? So far we've ran pings to clients connected to the remote SSID's from the controllers and the pings time out a bunch, then pick up a few, then back to timing out. When we run the same test to clients in connected to an SSID (same network/IP space) in the DC/corporate office, pings are 100% fine, so we know it's not an issue with the controller. Something from the controller to the branch AP is messed up. Pings direct to the APs are fine...just going through the AP via the VPN tunnel is affected it seems.
